Adult Spanish Classes

At Spanish Acueducto, we understand the importance of acquiring a foreign language. Socializing is a factor that encourages people to learn a new language. Even further, studying Spanish is a way of developing more confidence and a personal growth.

Our method is fun, challenging, and effective. We understand that the main objective is communication, so we emphasize that.

What We Offer

• Small groups. At Spanish Acueducto, 10 students per class is our limit. Average class size is 3–6 students. If for some reason, there’s someone who was not able to start a course from the very beginning date, s/he can join at any time and only pay the prorated number of lessons left of that course.

If the course paid is a 12-hour course, then the student can exchange it for 6 sessions of 1 hour of  private instruction.

Please read complete student policy all the way at the bottom of this page.

    • Recording virtual lessons, either audio or video, is strictly prohibited without our express prior written consent. Any unauthorized recording, reproduction, distribution, or public posting (including on social media platforms or file-sharing sites) of lesson content, regardless of format, is a material breach of these Terms and Conditions. Violation of this policy may result in immediate termination of the student’s enrollment, forfeiture of any tuition fees, and potential legal action to the fullest extent permitted by law. We retain all rights, title, and interest in the lesson content and materials.  Students acknowledge that any unauthorized use of recorded lesson content may be subject to civil and criminal penalties.
    • You acknowledge and agree that Spanish Acueducto LLC and its instructors may record any live class sessions for internal purposes, including but not limited to quality control, instructor training and improvement of course materials. By enrolling in and participating in our services, you consent to being recorded. You understand and agree that you are not entitled to receive copies of these recordings, and that these recordings are the sole property of Spanish Acueducto LLC.
  5. No Returns or Refunds.
    • By enrolling or registering in any course, you acknowledge and agree that all sales are final and we expressly refuse any requests for refunds or exchanges under any circumstances. This policy applies to all transactions made through our website or associated platforms, and you understand that no refunds will be provided for any reason, including dissatisfaction with the service, change of mind, or inability to utilize the product or service. Any requests for withdrawal or cancellation shall not entitle you to a refund, and by accepting these terms, you release us from all liability concerning your purchase. You acknowledge that you have read and understood this policy prior to completing your purchase, and it constitutes the complete and exclusive agreement regarding refunds, superseding all prior discussions or agreements, whether written or oral. WE OFFER NO REFUNDS ON ANY SERVICES DESIGNATED ON THIS SITE AS NON-REFUNDABLE.
    • To the extent any class has insufficient enrollment resulting in only one (1) student being registered, we will offer the student the following options: (a) a full refund of the tuition paid for the course minus any third-party payment or processing fee (e.g.  PayPal processing fee); or (b) Enrollment in six (6) private lessons of one (1) hour each. Option (b) must be exercised by the student within two (2) business days of notification from us. The student must notify us of their chosen option in writing via email to instructor@spanishacueducto.com. Failure to notify us of a selection within the specified timeframe will result in automatic processing of option (a). This clause does not affect our right to provide a full tuition refund in instances where the course is cancelled by us due to insufficient enrollment.
    • In the event a student enrolls in a class that has already commenced, we, at our sole discretion, may offer a pro-rated tuition adjustment. This adjustment, if offered, will be calculated based solely on the number of classes the student was unable to attend due to their late enrollment. We reserve the right to determine the eligibility and calculation of any such pro-rated tuition, including the acceptable method of payment, and our decision shall be final and binding.
  6. Instructor Changes. We reserve the right to change instructors at any time during a course for any reason, including but not limited to instructor unavailability, illness, or other unforeseen circumstances. While we will make reasonable efforts to provide notice of instructor changes, we are not obligated to do so.  We are not liable for any loss, inconvenience or disruption caused by instructor changes.
  7. Make-Up Classes; Rescheduling.
    • Students are expected to be on time for all scheduled online language instruction sessions. Instructors will wait for a maximum of fifteen (15) minutes from the scheduled start time for a student to join the online class. If a student has not joined the session within this fifteen (15) minute grace period, the instructor reserves the right to end the session. In such cases, the student will be considered absent for that class session, will not be eligible for any reimbursement and will not be offered a make-up class.
    • The availability of make-up classes for missed sessions is at our sole discretion. Make-up classes will only be offered if space is available in another class of the same level and during the same semester. The student acknowledges we are a small school and may not always be able to offer make-up classes. Students are aware that in lieu of make-up classes, private lessons may be available at an increased rate, the specifics of which can be discussed with us and our decision on make-up class options or private lesson alternatives is final.
    • Notwithstanding the foregoing, for any student enrolled in private classes and attempting to reschedule any private class session, the student agrees it shall provide written notice twenty-four (24) hours in advance of the scheduled private lesson to avoid rescheduling charges and fees.

Listen to what our students have to say!

Fabiola is a fantastic Spanish instructor! In her classes (and together, my husband and I have taken multiple classes at Spanish Acueducto with her over the past year), she creates a warm, convivial atmosphere that instantly puts students at ease, regardless of their level. At the same time, she continuously challenges each of her students to push themselves beyond their comfort zone, take risks, make mistakes and learn from them in a supportive environment. Each class begins with extensive everyday conversation practice and moves into a rigorous program of grammar review, reading, and listening. In classes I’ve taken elsewhere in the past, they tended to place emphasis on either grammar or conversation, but Fabiola makes sure to give equal and focused attention to both, ensuring a more well-rounded development in our language skills. Equally importantly, Fabiola is just an overall wonderful human being and a joy to learn from – she truly cares about getting to know each of her students, and she strives to make her classes and the school as a whole feel like an extended family. I feel really lucky to have Fabiola as a Spanish instructor, and so will you.

– Jenny L. Professor and Title IX Deputy Coordinator for Students at College of Lake County

“Fabiola is a friendly, warm, and patient instructor who is able to teach Spanish in a way that is understandable, respects a student’s level and pace of learning, and is enjoyable at the same time. She is accommodating about days and times to meet. I highly recommend Fabiola for anyone wanting to learn or expand their proficiency in Spanish.”

—Judy R

“As an adult learner, I can appreciate how learning a foreign language later in my life may pose some particular challenges and require a distinct teaching skill set (I learned English as a second language in my childhood). In my opinion Fabiola’s teaching style is very effective, multi-faceted, engaging and shows tangible results. In the past years, I have also attended classes with other Spanish teachers and regrettably did not witness the same level of progress I had grown accustomed to expect from taking her classes. During her classes, I have been impressed with her ability to solicit equal participation from all the students while making this process seem effortless. This is no small feat considering the contrasting personality styles that may be encountered. Fabiola not only shows relentless patience, but she also continuously adapts to her audience, making sure her students leave the class with a solid grasp of the materials covered.”
